Cristina Rubalcava Home
2010 has been quite a year for Mexico.
This exhibition by native artist Cristina Rubalcava ties in nicely with the bicentenary of the country's Independence movement and the centenary of the Mexican revolution and the pictures on display are all inspired by the Mexican way of life.
The pair of Latin American rhythm dancers radiate the music that runs through the artist's homeland while the skulls are a clear symbol of the 'Day of the Dead'. There are also tributes to the women of the Revolution and no Mexican exhibition could be complete without touching upon faith, seen here in the depiction of the Guadalupe pilgrimage. If you can't afford to spend the winter holidays in Mexico, this isn't a bad way of getting a bit closer.
