Formed in 1990, the American band Cracker has built a career that blends alternative rock, country, psychedelia and an unmistakable narrative pulse. With over three decades on stage, their artistic identity remains marked by a dual DNA, as evidenced by their latest double album, Berkeley to Bakersfield. These two Californian cities separated by a mere five hours by car boast radically different music scenes and cultures: from the punk, garage and funky energy of the East Bay to the country and country-rock heritage of Bakersfield, popularized by figures like Buck Owens and Merle Haggard.
