Corpus Christi is the celebration that first showcased the town’s gegants (giants—that are paraded through the street on holidays). Some of Solsona’s most recognizable folkloric icons include the bou (bull), the mulassa (mule), the drac (dragon) and the àguila (eagle).

Celebrations also involve fireworks, parades, trabucaires (a group of men carrying blunderbusses), a ball de bastons (traditional stick dancing); the nans (smaller giants that are only slightly larger than real people) and the cavallets (figures of men riding horses). Each figure or group is accompanied by its own song, and are sure to amuse and delight the whole family.
