Enter a surreal, dreamlike world with a company that blends object theater and juggling to tell the story of a solitary character in search of companionship.

A circus show with puppets or a puppet show with circus, whichever you prefer, Compaña tells the story of a character searching for human warmth and exploring their imagination in order to bring their thoughts to life and no longer feel so alone. In the process, it takes the audience on a journey full of surprises and laughter. 

The story’s guide is an artist from Galicia who has merged two worlds—object theater and circus—in a performance with heads, hands and life-size puppets that interact with the protagonist.

Delirious and fast-paced, Compaña is the most recent creation by Jesús Velasco Otero, a multidisciplinary artist who has taken part in projects with Galician, Spanish and international companies as a juggler and clown. He has worked with prestigious companies such as Gandini Juggling and has performed with the Great Moscow State Circus. In 2018 he founded the Xampatito Pato company and has brought his distinctive inner world to the stage with productions such as Joguina Roto 3po (with the group Pass & Company) and "SÓ.". He has also presented his work in countries ranging from China and Russia to France, Italy and Portugal. Velasco himself designed and built the puppets and mechanisms seen on stage.
