CinemaTeatre is a film cycle that explores the relationship between theater and cinema, two old acquaintances who respect and fear each other in equal parts.
Cinema and television have long played a prominent role in the stage world. We can’t illustrate the mutual influences between theater and cinema without talking about adaptations (both adapted authors and directors who adapt); filmed theater, where the set becomes a stage and the camera is part of the audience; cinematic reinterpretations of theatrical works; loose adaptations, recreated performances, and even theatricalized cinema or films based on original scripts; and theater readings, broadcast on radio, or staged for television. Contemporary cinema and theater are currently engaged in a constant bidirectional exchange.
CinemaTeatre is a program that continuously balances classicism and contemporary approaches, structured around creations and sections that showcase the trends, eras, movements, and formats of this fruitful relationship.
