Viva, viva! Chucho Valdés, returns to the Festival de Jazz de Barcelona. In 2023, he showed us the first steps of his latest album, Cuba & Beyond, leading his Royal Quartet, a first-class machine with José Armando Gola on double bass and electric bass, Roberto Jr. Vizcaíno on percussion, and Horacio "El Negro" Hernández on drums. Two years later, Chucho's musical talent remains the same: inexhaustible and almost immeasurable. Powerful music with unmistakable Afro-Cuban roots embedded in the great jazz tradition, with pieces as spectacular as "Congablues," a soundtrack to a landscape that evokes both Santiago de Cuba and New Orleans.
