Chema Madoz: Ars Combinatoria
Chema Madoz’s prints are stunning in their simplicity and have been described as "visual poetry".
He cleverly takes everyday objects and imbues them with ironic and nuanced meanings; a string of pearls is rendered a noose, a cross-section of wood becomes a flame for a match, bobby pins are transformed into ink. There's a delightful interplay between shadow and light in Madoz's works.
This free exhibit showcases the photographs, poetry and video interviews of one of the leading figures in Spanish contemporary photography. It is held in Gaudí's iconic La Pedrera and closes on July 28th.
