As years go by, it's safe to say that Charlie Parker's legacy continues to grow every day; he has become an inescapable totem of music. We celebrate the 100th birthday of the saxophonist and creator of bebop with a band led by Jesse Davis, Francesco Cafiso and Luigi Grasso, three of today's alto saxophones virtuosos.
The idea is simple: keep Bird's powerful and forceful music alive. The icing on this concert is that it will be recorded, given the interest in documenting the overwhelming force of this live line-up. Bird is 100 years old, but his music will live on for years to come.
