AFNE Run for Ethiopia
ANFE (Association of Ethiopian Families and Children) is running to raise funds for a development project in Ethiopia. The first Cursa Solidària d’AFNE takes place on Sunday June 2nd. The run is 5.6 km and is open to everyone. The profits will be used to finance a Muketuri development project that supports Ethiopian mothers and their children. The project guarantees nutrition and education for boys and girls, and gives mothers the tools to continue this work.
Ethiopia is renowned for its talented long-distance runners who train at high altitudes. In light of this, the ANFE run will also be held at great heights. Participants will meet at at Plaça Mireia, and the run will take place on the Carretera de les Aigües in the Parque de Collserola. The run will start at 9.30am and participants will have an hour to finish the course. There will be three male and three female official prizewinners.
If you're interested in taking part, you will have to get in quick—registration closes at 8pm on May 29th. It will cost you €12 or €14 to register, depending on if you have your own running chip or not.
