Founded in 2010, The Cerdanya International Film Festival began as a short film competition showcasing the heritage, nature, landscape and people in the area. Over the years what was once a small village festival has become a prestigious event—a must-see for filmmakers in the summer—and now is one of the most important events in the region. The program includes short and feature-length fiction, fantasy, animation and documentary films.
Designed to bring cinema closer to the audience, activities include concerts, children’s sessions and late-night showings. For film industry professionals, the festival offers workshops, conferences, exhibitions and guided tours around the main attractions of Puigcerdà.
