Sweetheart is Cassie Ramone's third solo album, and her first almost entirely recorded and instrumented by herself. Cassie, a member of Vivian Girls and The Babies (the project she shares with Kevin Morby), has a more pop-oriented sound than her previous work, including her two other solo albums–The Time Has Come (2014) and Christmas In Reno (2015)–as well as her collaborations with other bands. On the other hand, the songs are connected to a deeper personal story, one of renewal and rebirth.
