Pablo Carrascosa Llopis (Valencia, 1979), guest composer at L’Auditori, presents White with Frames Percussion and Barcelona Modern Ensemble, a work that reinterprets techno music by combining two complementary formats: live electronic music played by the composer himself, and music played with acoustic instruments (three percussionists, piano, string quartet, double bass and conductor).
The acoustic versatility of Sala 4 at L’Auditori will allow the composer, who is also a trained architect, to define different configurations of the space for each part of the work and to offer a juxtaposition of sounds in terms of acoustics. White is structured around its rhythmic dimension and its harmony is based on somewhat obvious citations of brief fragments of music by Anton Webern. The work completes a cycle of reinterpretations of the three musical genres that also includes Blue and Black, two previous works by Carrascosa Llopis that take in blues and black metal, respectively.
