Carlos de Jacoba and Ciutat first met in Granada in early 2025, without knowing what would emerge from that encounter. The connection was so strong that the three musicians spent the year traveling across Spain, reconnecting and building a unique album with deep roots gradually polished into a work that reflects a universal question: what does it mean to be alive in 2026?
Carlos de Jacoba is a flamenco guitarist and composer from Motril, Granada. He brings together tradition, knowledge, passion, Roma heritage, modernity, innovation, following in the footsteps of masters such as Camarón and Paco de Lucía. He has become a key figure in contemporary flamenco, equally rooted in the present and the legacy of the past. He has collaborated with artists ranging from Leonard Cohen to Diego el Cigala, as well as Duquende, Israel Fernández, Estrella Morente and Rosalía.
Ciutat are Guillem Bergadà (Guim) and Jordi Pareta (JPSunshine), musicians, composers, producers and DJs from Barcelona and the Empordà. Blending electronic music and downtempo, they are part of the Mainline collective, which has helped reshape the club scene. Their credits include work with Guitarricadelafuente, Chico Blanco, Teo Lucadamo, Myd, Tristán and Mushkaa.
This collaboration between Carlos de Jacoba and Ciutat premieres as part of Univers Paral·lel x Grec 2026 Festival Barcelona.
