In 2016, harpist Brandee Younger made her Barcelona debut, leaving a lasting impression. Almost a decade later, she returns to the festival with her unconventional sound — one that has captivated artists like Common, Robert Glasper, Lauryn Hill and John Legend, as well as the Coltrane family, which regards her as a kind of tacit heir to Alice Coltrane.

Her music goes beyond clichés — it’s both mystical and earthly, with references that range from classical music to the most authentic, heartbreaking soul. With the harps of her mentor and other illustrious predecessors like Dorothy Ashby, Younger’s music ventures into a unique space of peace and introspection, without ever losing the pulse of the groove.
