Born Cultural Centre Opening
This week the Born neighbourhood's new cultural centre opens, marking the start of the year-long celebrations for the 300th anniversary of the end of the 1714 Barcelona city siege, as well as the reclamation of a public space for residents.
Visitors will be able to walk around the old market and visit the archaeological site that features remnants from 18th-century Barcelona. The centre also now connects Passeig del Born to Ciutadella Park, recreating how the street would have looked back then. Aside from being a heritage site it is also an artistic hub, with various theatre performances planned as part of the 1714 celebrations and La Mercè.
Until September 29th, entry to the cultural centre is free. For more information click here.
