Biennial of Thought 2024
to
Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) Carrer de Montalegre 5, 08001 Barcelona
Nobel Literature laureate Herta Müller, playwright Wajdi Mouawad, writer Zadie Smith and journalist Eliane Brum are among the outstanding speakers at the CCCB’s fourth Biennial of Thought.
The program is an invitation to think anew about the notion of progress while also elucidating these times that are darkened by narratives of eco-social collapse, war, violence and reactionary trends. Outstanding figures of contemporary culture will join us in thinking about the uses and abuses of memory and nostalgia, calling for ways of inhabiting the planet that are compatible with life on Earth, and presenting a humanism that is open to diversity, freedom and caring.
This year’s Biennale will turn the streets and squares of Barcelona into spaces for shared thought, reflection and emotions. Through the word, the performing arts, audiovisual formats and music, the Biennale is an invitation to become imbued with new ideas, and to be moved by and celebrate art and thought as avenues of knowledge and catharsis.
