In a Palau de la Música season where the guiding theme is heroism and deeply human music, an earthly demigod like Beethoven could not be absent from the program. Beethoven’s Third Symphony, the Eroica, was a true musical revolution.
From the very first notes, the listener is transported into a new musical universe — one of unprecedented vigor and energy.
History tells us that the symphony was initially dedicated to Napoleon, though it was later transformed into a hymn for freedom for the people. This composition serves as a bridge between Classicism and Romanticism, standing as one of the most powerful declarations of artistic identity in history.
The concert concludes with Mozart’s Concerto for Flute, Harp, and Orchestra in C Major, a work of great refinement featuring flutist Elisabet Franh and Mélanie Laurent on the harp.
Mozart and Beethoven: two unparalleled masters in one extraordinary performance.
