After having already interpreted Beethoven’s eight previous symphonies, the Orquestra Simfònica Camera Musicae begins this season together with Orfeó Català to celebrate The Year of Beethoven.
Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is one of the most important works in the history of music. Musically, this symphony was ahead of its time. This piece was a revolutionary composition, both modern and romantic. It's much more extensive than his previous symphonies, and we hear unusual instruments in the orchestration, such as the piccolo, the contrabassoon, the bass trombone, and the triangle.
