Central European lied at the turn of the century is the guiding thread of this recital, which blends poetic sensitivity and harmonic sophistication. Works by Schubert, Wolf, Marx, Korngold, Alma Mahler and Berg make up a highly expressive program that moves from the most intimate Romanticism to the tensions and subtleties of the modern sound world. Beatriz Miranda, one of the most compelling emerging voices on the lieder scene and pianist Teodora Oprisor, acclaimed for her refinement and rapport with singers, delve into this repertoire with sensitivity and poise.
