Gran Teatre del Liceu La Rambla 51-59, 08002 Barcelona

The International Singing Contest of Francisco Viñas was founded in 1963, to commemorate Catalan tenor Francesc Viñas, who was acknowledged as one of the greatest Wagnerian singers of his time. After preliminary rounds in opera houses around the world, including Madrid, Paris, London, Berlin and New York, the 52nd edition of the singing competition will be held in the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, followed by a concert that offers the public an opportunity to get to know the winners of this year’s main awards.
The opera singers will be accompanied by the Orquesta Sinfónica Gran Teatre del Liceu, led by Russian-born composer Gueràssim Voronkov.
