Nativity Scene in Plaça Sant Jaume
Plaça Sant Jaume 08002 Barcelona

The giant nativity scene in Plaça Sant Jaume has become one of Barcelona’s most cherished Christmas traditions, enchanting locals and tourists alike with its imaginative themes and figures. This year, the nativity scene celebrates and commemorates Josep Visenç Foix, Barcelona’s renowned poet, on the 30th anniversary of his death. Two artists, Quim Domene and Toti Toronell, will perform verses daily from Foix’s famous nativity poem Everyone knows, it’s a prophecy (1953) to entertain visitors while they marvel at the magical display.
The nontraditional nativity scene will be in Plaça Sant Jaume until January 8th, and is open from 10am until midnight every day.
