The bicycle takes center stage during the Festa de la Bici i la Bicicletada, promoting the use of cycling in a safe, sustainable and healthy way. In this edition you'll find circuits, workshops and games for all, as well as the usual raffle of products related to the world of cycling for participants. You'll also see companies in the sector displaying their latest cycling gear, and even be able to try out different bicycles, cargobikes and Bicing bikes.
The festival kicks off at 10:00 with a tour starting at Aragó, between Passeig de Sant Joan and Sicília. The 12-kilometer route will allow bike enthusiasts to pedal through the districts of L'Eixample, Ciutat Vella and Sant Martí.
Bicycle use continues to grow in Barcelona; more than 220,000 daily trips are now made by bike or personal mobility vehicles—23% more than before the pandemic. In terms of energy use, the bicycle is the most efficient means of transport, which is why the city is committed to the continued expansion and improvement of cycle paths. During 2022 and the first months of 2023, more than seven kilometers of bike lanes were added, with the goal to exceed 272 kilometers before the end of the year.
