Johannes Moser

Hailed by Gramophone Magazine as “one of the finest among the astonishing gallery of young virtuoso cellists”, Johannes Moser makes his Barcelona debut at L’Auditori on February 11th. Having performed with some of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic and the London Symphony, the 36 year-old will be delivering a rendition of Prokofiev and Rachmaninoff’s classical repertoires.
Born into a musical family in 1979 as a dual citizen of Germany and Canada, Moser began studying cello at the age of eight and shortly afterwards became a student of legendary Lithuanian cellist David Geringas in 1997. Nowadays, Moser is gaining increasing renown for his efforts to expand the reach of the classical genre, as well as his passionate focus on new music and his commitment in reaching out to young audiences.
