Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) Palau Nacional, Parc de Montjüic, 08038 Barcelona

Ramon Pichot established himself in Paris’ bohemian Montmartre at the beginning of the 20th century. Living in the epicentre of international art at the time, his work was influenced by the currents of Post-Impressionism and Fauvism. He maintained a long friendship with Pablo Picasso, and formed part of the Colla del Safrà group along with Joaquim Mir Trinxet and Isidre Nonell. He was one of the few Spaniards to capture the sufferings of the First World War, and his art evolved from Modernism to Decorativism over time. This exhibition tracks the scenes of Barcelona, Paris and Cadaqués, places of encounter, refuge and constant inspiration.
