The Antonio Mazzei Standards Trio, led by the dynamic pianist that gives the trio its name, blends the talents of three acclaimed musicians: Venezuelan pianist, composer, and producer Antonio Mazzei; renowned Japanese bassist Masa Kamaguchi; and award-winning drummer David Xirgu.

Mazzei, a graduate of the New School for Jazz in New York City, has worked with jazz icons such as Paquito D’Rivera, Steve Khan, and Rubén Blades, while also producing albums for Grammy-winning artists. His experience includes a deep exploration of improvisational music and classical influences. Masa Kamaguchi, an esteemed jazz bassist based in Barcelona since 2006, brings a wealth of international experience, contributing his distinctive voice to the trio’s sound. Meanwhile, David Xirgu, a veteran of the European jazz scene, has played with top-tier musicians such as Dave Douglas, John Abercrombie, and Kurt Rosenwinkel, and has earned multiple accolades for his exceptional work as both a performer and recording artist.

Together, the trio creates a vibrant musical experience, performing original compositions alongside their unique renditions of American Songbook standards.
