Pintors malvats, 1988. Antoni Tàpies
The Antoni Tàpies Foundation is staging an exhibition featuring works by Antoni Tàpies, who died in February this year, selected from its own collection.
The range of works were created between the Forties and the modern day, and demonstrates the Catalan artist's development in his use of materials and techniques. They reflect his experimentation with Surrealism and the increasingly political nature of his work, as the Franco dictatorship drew to a close and the transition to democracy took place in Spain. His more recent works tend more towards images of everyday life.
