Andrea Motis' new project is an “unusual” trio called Temblor: she is on trumpet and vocals, Christoph Mallinger on the violin and mandolin and Zé Luis Nascimento on percussion. The trio was born, explains the artist, “with the intention of developing it for years. I think,” she continues, “that it is sufficiently original, that it has many possibilities, and I am doing this project with the intention of it being my base group for a long time, because I think that from the mixture of our three personalities a magical combination emerges.”

At the Barcelona Jazz Festival, however, the bet will be somewhat different, after the two sold out shows at Guitar BCN, Temblor will invite some artists to join in to further round out the message planned by Motis. "I feel that a concert is a spiritual congregation, not exactly religious, but there is something very deep that can be transmitted and it is my duty to take care of my energy and be able to convey a message of positivity, of hope," says Motis.
