This one-man show was inspired by the "familiar stranger” phenomenon: when you feel like you recognize someone, or maybe even feel a sense of acute familiarity, despite never having spoken to this person before. Lucas Abram has a few things to say about it, and with his trademark quick wit and eclectic style.

In An Evening with Lucas Abram: Your Own Personal Stranger, Lucas will blend storytelling, stand-up comedy, and live music to explore the contradictions, fraudulence, and performative nature of masculinity today. Drawing from lived anecdotes as an educator, radio broadcaster and world traveller, the show delves into how the "male identity” is often borrowed and repackaged across straight, gay and queer worlds. 

No teacher, no method, no guru… just an encounter filled with wit, style, and smart humor. Pick your poison and prepare for an intimate evening with someone who feels familiar (you’ve heard and seen him around town and on the local airwaves for years), but yet remains, by design, your own personal stranger.
