Amphitrio is a contemporary jazz trio from Bucharest, Romania, formed in 2023 by pianist and composer Andrei Petrache, bassist Mike Alex, and percussionist Philip Goron—three musicians whose artistic paths merge classical precision, modern jazz sensibility and alternative experimentation.

The essence of the project lies in friendship, improvisation and a shared search for freedom in sound. Each member brings a distinct creative language shaped by years of performing across genres—from classical and orchestral contexts to experimental jazz, world music and electronic fusion.

Amphitrio’s repertoire is built around original compositions by Andrei Petrache, exploring the meeting point between Nordic lyricism, Balkan rhythmicality, and modern jazz architecture. Their sound oscillates between spacious, cinematic textures and dynamic, groove-driven structures—an evolving dialogue between acoustic instruments and subtle electronic layers.

Their performances often blur the boundaries between concert and narrative, inviting audiences into immersive sonic spaces that evoke both the intimacy of chamber music and the pulse of modern improvisation.
