On the occasion of the publication of the latest issue of the magazine El Món d’Ahir, devoted to the cosmos, the poet Míriam Cano, the physicist and journalist Toni Pou, and the artist and essayist Joan Fontcuberta will discuss, in a conversation moderated by the magazine’s editor Toni Soler, the shared imagined concepts engendered by fascination with the universe.
The cosmos is a fertile space for the imagination where, as Jacint Verdaguer said, “swarms of worlds teem.” For centuries, the curiosity aroused by looking at the sky has inspired the questions of scientists, philosophers, poets, and artists around the world. The discoveries of astronomy have had a considerable echo in stories created throughout the history of humanity about the origins of life and the universe. What is the cultural legacy of our gaze on the cosmos? How have science and storytelling come together when trying to understand the mysteries?
El Món d’Ahir is a magazine that offers an author’s look at history, combining literature, essay, photography, and journalism to bring the echoes of the past into the present.
