Today, May 15th, the British historian and writer Angela Jackson, will present the Spanish-language version of her book For us it was heaven, a biography of the Civil War nurse Patience Darton at the Catalunya History Museum.
The event starts at 6.30pm and as well as Dr. Jackson, Jordi Palou-Loverdos, the director of Memorial Democràtic, Albert Tort, the president of the Official College of Nurses of Barcelona, and Amèlia Guilera, director of the Nursing School of Sant Joan de Déu, will be in attendance.
The book tells the story of British nurse Darton, who joined the Republican cause in the Spanish Civil War and later went to China, where she was part of the Foreign Languages Press. Read our interview with Angela Jackson here.
