Best results ever for the Fira
The Fira de Barcelona will close 2014 with a turnover of 151.4 million euros. This is 28.5% higher than 2013 and higher even than the years preceding the financial crisis
More evictions predicted
The catholic charity Càritas in Barcelona expects there to be another wave of evictions, this time of people living in rented accommodation. The situation will be complex as many apartment owners rely on the income to meet their own expenses.

Fashion fair Bread&Butter has been declared bankrupt. The fair took place in Barcelona for some years but was recently moved back to its home town, Berlin.
SOS from Cine Maldà
The Maldà cinema, in Carrer del Pi, has called for help to keep it open. Barcelona's oldest single-screen cinema, the Maldà opened its doors in 1945. Despite huge efforts by its owners to create an attract more film-lovers, sometimes no more than 15 people show up to screenings.
