Unemployment falls in November
The number of unemployed people in Spain fell by 14,688 in November. This is the largest fall in the month of November since 1996.
T10 price drop
The T10 transport ticket will drop by 35 cents from January 2015. It will cost 9.95 euros.
Fab labs for Barcelona
The Ajuntament plans to open six new digital fabrication centre, or 'fab labs' between 2015 and 2016. These centres will have the latest in digital creation technology, including 3D printing and laser cutters. The city currently has two of these centres, one in the old Benet i Campabadal factory in Les Corts and the other in a special school in Ciutat Meridiana.
Gràcia wants more control of student residences
The area of Gràcia is asking the Generalitat to grant it the power to create a register of all students that use student residences. They want to ensure that the residences aren't being used as hostels or tourist accommodation.
Crisis makes poor areas poorer
Data collected by the Ajuntament reveals that, while in 2008, Barcelona's richest neighbourhood was 4.3 times wealthier than the poorest, this figure rose by 50% to 6.4 in 2012.
