Sagrada Familia (home)
It's taken 133 years so far and at one point many people believed it would never be finished. Barcelona. Now, the Sagrada Familla has a tentative end date: 11 years from now, in 2026.
According to Jordi Faulí, the architect in charge of the temple's construction, the work is focused right now on the six central towers: one dedicated to the Virgin Mary, four to the Evangelists, and the tower of Christ, which will be circled by the Evangelist towers. The highest point of the Sagrada Familia will be the tower of Christ, which at 172.5 metres will rise far above the present structure. Faulí explained that from 2017 visitors will be able to get a feeling for how the finished temple will look, although radical changes won't be obvious until 2020.
In 2015, the sacristy, built according to Gaudí's original model, will be finished, as will the second porch on the Passion façade.
