Cowboys & Aliens
Please click on the links to watch this week's trailers:
Animals United - 3D German animation that takes climate change as its subject. Cute animals, from all over, have to save their habitat from nasty, stupid Europeans.
Cowboys & Aliens - Harrison Ford is the perfect grizzly sheriff character to Craig Daniels' steely monosyllabic outlaw. Classic cowboys but with added intergalactic goo, Jon Favreau's latest is certainly a strange new genre. By all accounts if they had left the aliens in space this would have been a quite impressive movie.
Dancing Dreams - Anyone a fan of German choreographer Pina Bausch will want to see this documentary. It shows the 10-month-long rehearsal for dance hall drama Kontakthof. The piece includes an ensemble of 40 teenagers and we follow them through the duration before the premiere performance in the Tanztheater Wuppertal.
La Piel que Habito (The Skin I Live In) - Pedro Almodóvar's latest outing is a stylish horror that sees Antonio Banderas appear as pioneering plastic surgeon Robert Ledgard, who living with the death of his wife, has held capture the beautiful Vera played by Elena Anaya. She is his prisoner and patient and bears an uncanny resemblance to his late wife and it's her that Banderas tries out his (not quite legal) synthetic skin treatment on. Mad, but straight-faced serious as well but with a fairly ludicrious twist near the end.
Monte Carlos - Disney star Selena Gomez gets mistaken for a British heiress whilst on holiday with girl pals, (Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy). The girls' holiday needless to say turns all luxurious as they head to Monte Carlos.
