The following films will be premiering this week in Barcelona cinemas:
Headhunters: The film adaptation of the eponymous book by critically acclaimed Norweigan author Jo Nesbo (the writer of bestsellers such as The Snowman and The Leopard) sees protagnoist Roger Brown leading a double life, as a headhunter and an art thief, in order to sustain his sybaritic lifestyle. Roger's two separate lives collide when his beautiful wife (Diana Brown) introduces him to Clas Greve, who seems not only a perfect fit for the position for which Roger is recruiting but who is also in possession of a priceless Rubens...
Los Mercanarios 2 (The Expendables 2): The sequel to the all-guns-blazing cinematic explosion which is The Expendables and, just like its forerunner, the cast of this film reads like a 'Who's Who' of action cinema superstars—Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Mickey Rourke and Jet Li all feature. Mr. Church (Stallone) brings together the elite team for what is expected to be a relatively risk-free job, but inevitably trouble arises and when one of the team is shot and killed, revenge is the theme of the day. Positively dripping in action-packed sequences, this film certainly ain't for the faint-hearted.
Manolete (A Matador's Mistress): Interweaving tales of both love and death, this film is a biopic of the final part of celebrated Spanish bullfighter Manolete's life; it focuses, in the main, upon his love affair with actress Lupe Sino and his being gored to death in the bullring. Adrian Brody stars as the ill-fated matador while the sultry Penelope Cruz in the role of Sino. This one's more than likely to bring a tear to the eye of even the most stolid of cinema-goers.
