The Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) presents rotating exhibitions of works from its collection and an array of international artists. With foundational roots harkening back to 1959, the present MACBA was opened in 1995 in a building designed by American architect Richard Meier. Not only a cultural staple to the city, the building and its surroundings are loved by skateboarders who cruise the square that stands in front of the Meier building. The MACBA continues to expand its vision and now includes a Study Center which links the production of exhibitions and the production of knowledge in relation to contemporary art.
