One of the big attractions of the new Hotel España is their approach to gastronomy, as illustrated by the appointment of the acclaimed chef Martín Berasategui as gastronomic director.
In the Fonda España restaurant, Berasategui gives the old concept of a "fonda" a new life, bringing the most traditional cuisine up to date with a contemporary twist. With him in Hotel España and Fonda España is chef Xavier Sender who has worked under Berasategui for several years.
The restaurant is located in the Modernista dining room that was originally designed and decorated by Domènech i Montaner. Rich in patrimonial interest, the historic elements in this beautiful room inspire and enhance the new elements.
