Casa Batlló is a unique Modernista masterpiece. It has become one of the most emblematic works by Antoni Gaudí and a symbol of the city of Barcelona. It is located in Passeig de Gràcia.
Casa Batlló was rebuilt by Gaudí between 1904 and 1906, by assignment of its owner Josep Batlló. Rather than a building, Casa Batlló is a myth of art, architecture and design. It is the expression of conceptual freedom and an unusual form of perfection. The creative use of a different range of materials such as wood, glass, iron, ceramics and stone is especially remarkable.
Casa Batlló stands out for its unique design, its repertoire of visual solutions, the creative use of materials, and its allegorical values. It represents the fantastic, the theatrical and the vibrant. Casa Batlló has been on Unesco’s World Heritage List in July 2005.
