Opened in 1998, Amaltea is one of Barcelona's best-known vegetarian restaurants. Spacious and originally decorated, the cuisine here is based on natural flavours and ingredients, well combined to create tasty dishes.
All dishes, including desserts, seitan, yogurt, kefir and bread are made on the premises. Where possible, organic ingredients are used, for example some grains and dishes such as seaweed, tofu, sprouts, herbal teas and some grains. Vegans are also catered to, with a range of dishes and desserts to choose from. In addition they offer a varied buffet of salads.
Lunch menus: For lunch you can choose between a two-course menu with more than six choices in each course plus drink and dessert for €10.70, or a combination plate with a drink for €8.70 from Monday to Friday.
In the evenings and on the weekends the restaurant offers a two-course menu with dessert and drink for €15.50.
Amaltea has a space for groups and an adjoining room for workshops, meetings and conferences. They also organise vegetarian cooking courses and if you wish, prepare takeout and catering for groups.
The restaurant is closed on Sunday.
