Modernist artist Joaquín Torres-García (Montevideo, 1874-1949) was a key figure of the Modernist movement and a pioneer of geometric abstraction along with fellow artists Mondrian, Van Doesburg and Helion.
This exhibition aims to show the viewers the artist’s creative process and show the crossroads he came to throughout his career, such as evolving into a classic modernist artist, or his years I Paris and New York.
The exhibition analyses the myths and themes current in Torres-Garcias’s work and explores the contrast between the belleza clásica and belleza moderna.
