Eve Ensler’s awarding winning production The Vagina Monologues will be presented in Barcelona in February 2013. The play will be presented over three dates which will occur around V-Day’s international ‘One Billion Rising’ call-to-action campaign to end violence against women, on February 14th. All funds raised through ticket sales for The Vagina Monologues go to the local Associacio Assistencia Dones Agredides Sexualment (AADAS).
The Vagina Monologues is a testimonial of women's experiences on their journey through sexual discovery. These women share their most intimate desires and fears in a backdrop of humour, heartbreak and sometimes violence. Monologues like “If your vagina could talk”, “Because he liked to look at it”, and “My vagina was my village” among others, have touched the lives of many women as they embrace their sexuality, since 1998.
