Beginning in Barcelona in 2010, The Excitements have since been making waves across the country and have begun to gain success across the rest of Europe. Their unique sound is a combination of rhythm 'n' blues and soul, old-school style, which has impressed and astounded audiences all over the country and now Europe.
They have played at various macro-festivals in the past years, such as Coleur Café (Belgium) and Les nuits Secretes (France), and jazz festivals including San Sebastian’s Jazzaldia (Spain), Nancy, Lille (France) and Liege (Belgium). The band have also performed at several specialised festivals including Funtastic Dracula Carnival, Purple Weekend and Beat Goes On (Spain). In addition to this they have been continuously involved in club circuits in the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and the UK, among others.
Influenced by the best Afro-American music from the past century such as Tina Turner and James Brown, The Excitements focus on old-school sounds rather than looking towards modern soul-funk trends.
Their much anticipated second album, Sometimes too much ain't enough, including the single 'Ha Ha Ha', will be performed at City Hall as they return to their Barcelona roots.
