Iran at the heart of the Middle East
Institut Europeu de la Mediterranea 20 Girona, Barcelona

This lecture, given by Dina Esfandiary at the Institut Europeu de la Mediterrània (IEMed), will discuss Middle East politics, particularly Iran and its role in the region.
Esfandiary is a research fellow at the Centre for Science and Security Studies at King’s College London, with a focus on security, relations between states and non-proliferation in the Middle East. She will argue that Iran does not aim to gratuitously disrupt the region, instead seeking to secure its borders and strategically expand its influence, much like most other countries. This lecture is given as part of the Aula Mediterrània 2017-2018 series, presented by IEMed.
The lecture is free, with prior registration required.
