Pierre Huyghe - Streamside Day
French artist Pierre Huyghe likes to play with the line between reality and fiction and investigates the construction of collective and individual identities.
For Streamside Day Follies, Huyghe visited Streamside Knolls in New York State, a small town being constructed, where he invitied the new community to celebrate the founding of their new collective identity. Parades were held, music played and food was shared. The result was a short, fictional film where the parade played a part, embedded in references from Disney animations, contemporary fiction writing, and romantic landscape painting.
