Steve Bruce Roberts, a British songwriter settled in Barcelona for the past 20 years, dives in the 60s and 70s acoustic pop and folk to exorcize his inner demons and obsessions. From lost love, past memories, dreams, death and history to the lively streets around him tapping under his feet. British rainy soul under Barcelona’s sun.
After releasing “Drift”, Steve is recording his new studio album. He plays solo and as a band with drummer Antonio Miranda, where British, Irish and Australian traditional music is cooked in beautiful moving tunes.
Toni Jiménez, after alternating between voices and guitars in different bands, released his first solo album in 2013, “Deudas y dolores” (Debts and pains). A selfpublished crowdfunded project which walks the country rock and American folk wandering paths of sound.
Steve Bruce Roberts will play a double gig together with Toni Jiménez at LACONTRA next Saturday, May 10th at 10 pm as a part of LACONTRA new Rema Varela’s exhibition ‘Swamps and Ravines’ and Tallers Oberts. British and American folk hand by hand.
