A runner´s paradise
Barcelona celebrates its 38th marathon in style this Sunday. If you're not one of the 17,000 runners taking on the grueling 43-kilometre route, there's still plenty to do this weekend (besides cheering on the runners of course).
Breakfast run The day before the marathon, on Saturday 12th, the traditional Breakfast Run will leave from the magic fountain at 9.30am. The course is 4.195 km and is free. It's limited to 2,000 participants.
Pasta Party Know anyone running the marathon? If so, you can be their 'plus one' at this free carb-loading pasta fest on Saturday 12th between noon and 4pm at the Expo Sports area.
Kids' races The children can join in their own race on Saturday 12th. There will be different races for all ages. Make sure you sign up first. See here for the details.
Live events To keep the runners and spectators cheerful there will be 41 animation points along the marathon route offering all kinds of live acts, from castellers, rock music, drummers, rumba...you name it. The race starts at 8.30am with the first runners expected to finish at 10.40am. See the map here.
