Julia Dierickx-Brax, a young Parisian, presents her intimate collection entitled 'Sleepers' at the La Pan Gallery in Barcelona.
After graduating from the Sarbonne, Julia undertook a two month residency at the gallery in order to explore the mystery and beauty of the sleeping human body. The artist explores the classic art history theme of sleep and rest in an innovative and haunting way throughout the series. The artist's work begins with sketchings of the sleeping body which she then transforms into striking and original forms made from string and nails. The artist then places these transformations and enlarges her creations onto dramatic locations such as cliff faces.
The exhibition opening takes pace on 19th October at 8pm and the collection will be displayed at La Pan until 31st October.
