Sheepdog trials Llavorsi
Fancy doing something a bit different? Then head out of town to the beautiful town of Llavosí in the Catalan Pyrenees for the 24th edition of their traditional International Sheepdog trials.
On Saturday 14th, there's a sheep fair with craft demonstrations, kids´ games, workshops and a traditional lamb race. Local beers, yoghurt and cheeses provide sustenance.
At 10am on Sunday, 12 shepherds and their dogs from Catalunya, France and the Basque Country fight it out in the meadows of Coma in front of an enthusiastic crowd. In the first round, the dogs have to negotiate the flock through a circuit of barriers while in the final, they have to herd the flock into a stable. The judges won't be taking any nonsense from the dogs: biters are automatically disqualified.
