Sarsuela - Romance Marinero
For those who don't know, a sarsuela (zarzuela in Castillian), is a type of musical theatre which first began in the royal hunting lodge, the Palacio de la Zarzuela, near Madrid, dating back as far as 1630.
This September, Catalan company +Sarsuela is bringing Romance Marinero (La tabernera del puerto), a three-act operetta, first premiered in 1936, by composer Pablo Sorozábal and a libretto by Federico Romero and Guillermo Fernández-Shaw. A tale of two victim protagonists, the scapegoats and a boy and a girl that are willing to risk their lives to prove their love.
